PhD Thesis
Title: "Behavior of Autonomous Cars in a Virtual World".
Abstract. This thesis is related to simulate the vehicular traffic flow in a 3D environment. The new concept involves that the autonomous vehicles need to react good in a presence of vehicles controlled by humans (could be one or more users), but keeping the most real conditions in the global traffic. The idea of this concept is that the autonomous cars follow rules (implemented with a model), but users drives by instinct.
Research Areas
- Traffic flow theory.
